Gary Bowyer says the same mentality applies to Blackpool's Checkatrade Trophy fixture against Wycombe Wanderers this evening - the players want to win it.
The Seasiders are competing in three different competitions at the moment, with a place in the quarter-finals of this tournament awaiting should the team progress tonight.
"I know it's a different competition but it's a game of football and we've seen it in training with the players that they want to win this one," the manager said.
"The mentality that we're trying to develop and encourage further is that we want to win every game we compete in. We're also delighted that we're at home - the draws have been good to us in that sense."
Given Blackpool's participation in Sky Bet League Two and the Emirates FA Cup alongside this competition, the fixture schedule is filling up with midweek games, however it's something that isn't too concerning.
"From now until the end of the season it picks up and goes manic with fixtures - Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday - but if you ask the players that's what they'd prefer. The more the better, obviously," Bowyer said.
The visitors to Bloomfield Road this evening arrive with plenty of momentum, having won 11 of their last 12 fixtures. It's been a great run of form and will prove a good test for Blackpool.
"They're flying, they've been magnificent," Bowyer admitted. "We've got to compete with them and match whatever they give, and give a bit more ourselves. Hopefully we can produce a bit of quality to win the game."
Tickets for the fixture, which kicks-off at 7pm, are priced at £10 for Adults, £7 for Over-60s and £5 for Under-19s.
