Inside the play-offs with three games remaining, Blackpool’s fate is in their own hands and victory over Cheltenham Town would only strengthen their hand for the run-in.
The Seasiders picked up a morale-boosting win at league leaders Doncaster Rovers on Monday and will look to build on that at the weekend.
Victory could see Gary Bowyer’s side rise as high as fifth in League Two, but up to ten sides remain hopeful of reaching the play-offs.
Cheltenham will arrive at Bloomfield Road full of confidence, having strung together a four-match unbeaten run to leave them well-placed to avoid the drop.
Jordan Flores fired home an injury time penalty on a dramatic afternoon at Doncaster to earn Pool victory. They’d previously drawn 0-0 with Accrington Stanley, putting consecutive defeats behind them quickly.
Cheltenham moved clear of the relegation zone after a 2-1 victory over Grimsby Town on Monday. Prior to that, The Robins had drawn with Wycombe Wanderers and Crawley Town away from home.
Jamille Matt will miss out with a hamstring injury picked up during the Doncaster success. Jack Payne and Kyle Vassell will need assessing, while Jim McAlister remains out.
Cheltenham defender Daniel O’Shaughnessy will be their only absentee, with stand-in boss Russell Milton expected to make few changes for the clash.
