Fixture | Blackpool vs Crewe Alexandra
Date | 18 February 2017
Venue | Bloomfield Road
After travelling the length of the country this week, Blackpool will look to take advantage of home comforts and return to winning ways against Crewe Alexandra.
The Seasiders returned home with three points from two testing trips to Carlisle United and Portsmouth, and now sit six points off the play-offs.
They’ve drawn their previous three home matches and now go in search of a first league win at Bloomfield Road since November.
Crewe provide the opposition and make the short trip north in buoyant mood after back-to-back wins lifted the pressure on David Artell’s side in the bottom-half of League Two.
Pool were beaten 2-0 at Portsmouth in mid-week, after a brilliant 4-1 success at Carlisle United. At Bloomfield Road Yeovil Town, Colchester United and Crawley Town all left with a point, after holding Gary Bowyer’s side.
Crewe have taken six points from six this week to end a run of 11 winless matches. They hammered Grimsby Town 5-0 last weekend and followed it up with an impressive 2-1 success over Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday.
Bowyer hopes to have captain Andy Taylor available for selection, after he missed the last two matches with a shoulder injury. Neil Danns, Jim McAlister and Danny Philliskirk miss out through injury.
Artell is sweating on the fitness of Danny Hollands, who was withdrawn with a hamstring problem against Wycombe. Billy Bingham, Tom Lowery and Callum Saunders remain sidelined.
