Fixture | Portsmouth vs Blackpool
Date | 14 February 2017
Venue | Fratton Park
Saturday’s handsome victory over Carlisle United gives Blackpool a platform to build on and now back-to-back victories are on offer at Fratton Park for Gary Bowyer’s men.
The Seasiders put four past third-placed Carlisle United on the weekend and will now look to claim their first double of the season.
The opportunity to move to within two points of the play-offs is on offer, should Pool claim all three points and make it six matches unbeaten.
Portsmouth were amongst the pre-season favourites for promotion and will still be targeting a top three finish, despite mixed fortunes in recent weeks.
Brad Potts, Jordan Flores, Sanmi Odelusi and Nathan Delfouneso got Blackpool back to winning ways in style at Brunton Park on Saturday. Previously they’d recorded four draws on the spin, including over Colchester United and Crawley Town.
Portsmouth netted at either end of their 2-0 victory over Accrington Stanley on Saturday. Prior to that victory Paul Cook’s men had suffered consecutive defeats to Exeter City and Wycombe Wanderers.
Neil Danns will miss out, having been withdrawn early with a hamstring injury at the weekend. Potts is expected to be fit once again, while Andy Taylor will be assessed. Jim McAlister remains a long-term absentee.
Curtis Main is Portsmouth’s only absentee with a knee injury, otherwise Cook has a full-strength squad to select from.
