Chris Basham is delighted to be back at Blackpool next season and is already looking forward to what lies ahead.
The midfielder was one of 12 players to have an option activated on his contract last week, extending his stay at Bloomfield Road for a further year.
The 24-year-old is now set to embark on his fourth season in tangerine, with the aim being to build on the 28 appearances he's made this time around.
"I'm very delighted and happy to be staying because it's something that I wanted. I've been here for three years now and things have gone well for me this season because I've played a lot of football," he admitted.
"I've never played so much in a season in my career so it's been good and the season has gone like a flash. I've really enjoyed playing week in, week out and getting a chance in the team."
Basham is currently recharging his batteries ahead of pre-season, yet he's been impressed with what manager Paul Ince continues to implement.
"We've got a training programme this year that we've got to keep up with and that's a big progression," he said. "I think the manager is also looking at the scientific parts of things so that we get things sorted early doors.
"The manager is also going to work on individual things as well as team things. I just want to keep going and be a big part of our success next season, carrying on from my experiences this season.
"We got stronger and stronger as the season progressed so hopefully we can start the new season how we finished this one. We just need to get a few wins straight away," he added.
