Chris Basham admitted that Blackpool need to be more clinical following a last-gasp draw at Huddersfield.
The Seasiders peppered the Town goal throughout the 90 minutes but could only find a breakthrough with seconds of injury time remaining on the clock.
“We created so many chances and in the first five minutes we could have been 3-0 up,” the midfielder said. “They got the first goal and our heads seemed to drop a little bit, but we went back at them and scored a goal that we thoroughly deserved.
“We’ve got to be clinical in front of goal though and clinical at the back as well. We needed to defend the corner better.”
The character in the dressing room at the moment is unquestionable, with The Seasiders never-say-die attitude the biggest thing to come out of the season so far.
“I think we scored in the third minute with about 30 seconds to go, but that’s Blackpool Football Club and that’s the way the lads are, we’re full of faith for each other. We work for each other and we never give up.”
The festive fixtures continue to come thick and fast, with another away trip – this time to Middlesbrough – now on the agenda. Being a local lad, it’s one that Basham is particularly excited about.
“I’m looking forward to that one because I’ll have a lot of family there. Last time we beat them I wasn’t involved, but hopefully we can take that incentive and go and beat them again on their patch,” he added.
