James Caton is hoping to make the most of his pre-season opportunities, after returning from injury in The Seasiders' last two friendlies.
The 19-year-old winger has been sidelined due to a hamstring complaint for the past few weeks, ruling him out of some important training sessions.
But he's now available for selection again and helped set up Bobby Grant for his first Blackpool goal in the game against York City on Saturday.
"It was my second game of the week and I'd only been back for a week," he said. "It's been quite frustrating because I've been out all pre-season with a hamstring injury so it's been nice to get back on the pitch. I got a good 50 or so minutes on Saturday.
"It was a nice little assist but I still didn't feel fit enough to play 90 minutes. It was still a good workout for me."
Caton is now looking to stake his claim in the club's further fixtures, as he looks to make a first-team breakthrough.
"In every game I play I'm just looking to impress the manager. I know that he's wanting to bring in players but all I can do is get on the pitch and do my best. Hopefully that's good enough to impress," he added.
