Striker Expecting Improved Display

Nathan Delfouneso is backing himself and his Blackpool team-mates to make a swift return to top form, starting with Saturday’s game away at Cardiff City.

With the inquest into Monday’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town over, The Seasiders can now look ahead to back to back away games. They travel to the Cardiff City Stadium to play against Malky Mackay's Bluebirds tomorrow, before making the trip to Hull City on Tuesday.

England U21 international Delfouneso is looking forward to much improved performances in the two fixtures, both coming against sides touted as rival promotion contenders.

“We’re a positive team - we’re looking to win every game so that’s what we’ll aim to do over the next two games. Obviously after a defeat we’re looking to bounce back as quickly as possible,” said Delfouneso.

“We just didn’t play our game on Monday night. We’ve looked at it, addressed it, learnt where we made our mistakes and we’re looking forward to putting it right on Saturday.”

The 21-year-old striker has travelled to the likes of Moscow, Vienna and Prague in his young career so far, but will be making his first competitive appearance in the Welsh capital this weekend.

Conversely, the Birmingham-born forward will be able to draw on fond memories when he visits Hull on Tuesday, having already scored at the KC Stadium during a loan spell with Burnley last year.

“I know they are both good teams. They’re positive sides, strong sides and we’ll have to try and match them. We’ve got to go and show our strengths, our ability and how good a team we really are.

“It’s always the same in the Championship - any team can beat any other team on their day. These two teams in particular are both very good teams but we’ve got to look to be positive and control games like we have done in other games this season.

“We know we’ll have to be on our top form and put in our best performances all over the pitch to get a good result.”
