Striker On First Week With Seasiders

Matt Derbyshire is delighted with how his first week has gone at Blackpool, having got his first 30 minutes under his belt at Molineux last Saturday in the 2-1 win.

The 26-year-old is on-loan until the end of the season and is hoping to build on last Saturday's win in the two home games coming up against Barnsley and Millwall.

"It's obviously a different position to what I'm used to by playing and was delighted to get on at the weekend and we won, which is fantastic," said Derbyshire.

The striker is happy with how he has settled in at Bloomfield Road despite joking otherwise.

"They've all been rubbish to be honest, I haven't spoke to any of them!

"I'm joking really, they are all good lads and they've made me feel really welcome and to get my first minutes under my belt last Saturday was good."

Derbyshire is used to playing in a 4-4-2 formation and realises that he will have to adapt his game to fit into The Seasiders' way of playing; something that he is more than willing to do.

"Whatever the manager wants and wherever he wants me to play I will always give my best and 100% for Blackpool. Whether the manager sees me on the wing or through the middle, I will play wherever so the team can win.

"I'm looking forward to a new start and getting to know the lads a bit more and showing the lads exactly what I can do and what my strengths are.

"I always give 100%, I work as hard as I possibly can and I'm always looking to get in behind defenders and if the balls are played there I will be there."
