Nouha Dicko is hoping he can continue his perfect start to life back at Bloomfield Road, as Blackpool prepare host Middlesbrough this evening.
The French striker has bagged goals after coming off the bench in both of the Tangerines Championship home games this season – scoring the equaliser against Leeds United and adding the sixth against Ipswich Town.
“For me the start has been quite good because I've played four games and scored two goals,” the 20-year-old said.
“It has been easier for me to start this season because I’ve been here from the beginning and I already know all the lads and the gaffer from being here last season.
“I hope I can get another goal against Middlesbrough. If I play, I’ll just try to do my best and of course I will try to score. I will obviously also try to do my best to help other players score to help the team win the game.”
Dicko will be eager for a place in Ian Holloway’s side from the start tonight, but the former Strasbourg man is well aware that competition for places at the club is fierce.
New recruits Nathan Eccleston and Nathan Delfouneso have recently joined the Seasiders, alongside established forwards Kevin Phillips, Thomas Ince, Matt Phillips and Gary Taylor-Fletcher.
“I think Delfouneso and Eccleston have added good things to the squad. They have a lot of pace and they are very good technically, so it’s good for the team to have them.
“The competition between the players is very important. At the top clubs you can see that there always competition for places. I think the competition between the strikers will help everyone.”
