Seasiders Ready For Lancashire Derby
Barry Ferguson is relishing a Lancashire derby in front of the Sky TV cameras tomorrow, with both Blackpool and Burnley having plenty to play for.
The 36-year-old will once again put the boots on as he looks to steer the club away from relegation danger, while the visitors are aiming for promotion to the Premier League.
"This is what you want to be a footballer for, playing in front of a packed Bloomfield Road with a team that are heading for promotion," Ferguson said. "We've got a chance to stop them getting promotion and get us away from relegation. What more can you ask for? Bring it on.
"We've got to want it the most because if we don't then they'll run over the top of us. It's live on Sky and it's another chance for people to show what they can do."
Suitably impressed with Burnley, Ferguson has been extremely thorough in his preparations for taking on Sean Dyche's side.
"I've watched Burnley four times on DVD and they're a well organised, well drilled team. He's got them playing well and they deserve to be where they are.
"The boys know what way they play and they know every player inside out because we went through it as a team. Come Friday at quarter past five it's game on. It's a local derby, it's what football is all about.
"The team is already picked so we'll be ready. There will be no stone unturned.
"We'll be going out all guns blazing, trying to win the game. We'll fight for everything because every second ball we've got to win. I've got into the boys all week," he added.
