Two Opening Weekend Championship Fixtures Released

The Football League is to mark the 125th anniversary of its first season (1888/89) with a programme of special anniversary league fixtures to be played on the opening weekend of the 2013/14 campaign.

The six matches - two in each division - will feature a number of the founder members of the world's original league football competition, as well as other pairings of historical significance.

The two Championship fixtures to be played on the opening weekend of the season are:

Burnley v Bolton Wanderers
Derby County v Blackburn Rovers

Preston North End have are set to welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Deepdale for their first game of the season, meaning it is expected that Blackpool will be away from home for the first game of the 2013/14 campaign, as the teams are paired together to ensure they don't play at home on the same day.

To see all of The Seasiders’ fixture visit the Official Website at 9am tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
