Thomas Ince has expressed his delight with his and Blackpool’s start to the season, after his goals helped The Seasiders to a 6-0 win over Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Ince struck twice and helped create three more at Bloomfield Road as the Tangerines made it three wins out of three against Paul Jewell’s side. A brilliant piece of individual skill gave him the space to score from close range early in the second-half before adding a second from long range less than 10 minutes later.
“I suppose the first one I probably enjoyed a bit more, but it’s just great to get the two goals and a few assists,” he said.
“The gaffer puts tremendous faith in me to play the way I do. He allows me to express myself, these players allow me to express myself and there’s not a better set of team-mates I’ve had in football.”
The 20-year-old now has four goals in the league after also bagging a brace in the opening day victory over Millwall and the winger is already more than half way to bettering last season’s tally of seven.
“As a wide player it’s vital that you can get some goals and my aim was always to get more goals than I did last season. Getting four in three is nice, but my overall concern is working hard for this team and getting us back into the top flight.
“As a young lad to play at this stage, you can’t beat it. When you play at this place, we really do excite people. You see the media and fans who don’t even support Blackpool love watching Blackpool play because we attack teams and we excite people.”
