Blackpool Football Club can confirm the appointment of Paul Ince as first-team manager on a one-year rolling contract.
Ince, who links-up with his son Thomas at Bloomfield Road, has previously managed Macclesfield Town, MK Dons, Blackburn Rovers and Notts County.
At Macclesfield Town he helped the club avoid relegation to the conference, having taken charge with the team bottom of League Two and seven points adrift. In his first spell at MK Dons he guided the club to a promotion from League Two and a Football League Trophy success.
The 45-year-old, who was capped 53 times by England, also has a wealth of experience from his time as a player with the likes of Inter Milan, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Having taken his first training session at Squires Gate this morning, Ince is relishing the challenge ahead.
“It’s great to be here. Considering I’ve watched the team play for the last 14 months, it’s strange sitting here as the manager, having obviously watched Blackpool as a fan as well as watching my son play.
“I’m over the moon though and delighted, it’s great to be back on the training ground and great to be involved with, and in charge of, a great bunch of lads.
“I’ve worked with a lot of players and the spirit and togetherness of the lads is absolutely fantastic. I’m glad I’ve been given the opportunity by Karl Oyston.”
A further announcement regarding Paul’s staff will be made in due course.
