As soon as the fixtures get released it always creates a sense of optimism and an air of excitement among football fans.
Add into that a derby date with Preston North End in the Capital One Cup and it's easy to see why supporters can't wait for the season to get back underway.
Paul Ince will be the man who leads The Seasiders into the 2013/14 campaign and admits he is looking forward to 3 August when the season gets started.
"I think it's a good fixture for us. Obviously with Doncaster coming up last season, they will be looking to get off to a good start.
"We know that all fixtures in The Championship are tough. Doncaster followed by Barnsley at home is good for us, I wouldn't say it is an easy start by any means, but it's a nice start where we can hopefully pick up some points."
Despite the league being seen as the most important competition Blackpool are in, Ince knows there is an added importance on the League Cup First Round.
I think when you look at all the fixtures the most important one is the Preston one because it is a derby game, away in the cup.
"It would have been nice to have avoided each other and played later on, but I suppose that is the one you look at when you see all the fixtures.
"They are games that you actually wish you were playing in yourself! Me and Alex Rae would love to be playing in midfield but obviously we can't because we are a little bit too old now!
"Our priority is the league and it always will be, but if you can get a nice cup run it breeds confidence. We know it will be a tough game, with two teams who will be up for it and know what is at stake."
The Pool boss has played in plenty of derby games in his career and knows how much the encounters mean to the supporters.
"It's a good draw for our fans and their fans and I'm sure there will be a lot of banter going on before the season starts.
"We will take it game by game though, we've got Doncaster first and that's got be our main aim and focus and the Preston game will take care of itself."
