Tom Ince is targeting an extra game at Bloomfield Road this month, with the stadium hosting an England Under-21 fixture.
Stuart Pearce’s side are set to face Northern Ireland in Blackpool on Tuesday 13 November, in what will be the first meeting between the two nations at that level.
Ince, who has played for the Under-21s on four occasions, hopes to be involved in the game and is delighted that the club has been offered the chance to stage the event.
“We’ve played at Norwich, we’ve played at Chesterfield and now we’re going to play at Blackpool. It’s great that a game like that should be scheduled here after all the work that has been done to the stadium,” he said.
“I’m sure the Blackpool fans will enjoy it because not many people get a chance to see the top players in the country at that level.”
Having experienced the atmosphere inside the ground on many an occasion, the 20-year-old is backing the fans to get right behind the Three Lions.
“I’m sure a lot of the players in the England team will enjoy it because Blackpool is a great place to come and play and there will no doubt be a good atmosphere. It’s great to see that Blackpool are getting that type of recognition to host games like this.
“It’ll be fantastic, if I’m selected, to get a chance to play where I play most weeks. Hopefully I can be selected because it will be a great moment for me,” he added.
Tickets for the fixture, which kicks-off at 7.30pm, are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children, with a family ticket (two adults and two children) available for just £25.
