Barry Ferguson was taken to hospital on Saturday after suffering a head injury in the first-half of the game with Peterborough United.
Scans revealed that the 35-year-old has strained ligaments in his jaw and the midfielder will be monitored over the next couple of weeks.
Speaking after Saturday's match Paul Ince expressed his relief to hear that Ferguson suffered no fracture.
"It was a concern when he went down for so long," said Ince. "You always think of the worst possible scenario, but to see him walking around again is a bit of a relief.
"Hopefully he will be ok for two weeks time, but we will have to wait and see."
