Three Seasiders away with their country

This week three of Paul Ince’s Blackpool squad have swapped Squires Gate for international duty.

Matt Gilks, Thomas Ince and Jack Robinson have all joined up with their nations for two matches.

Goalkeeper Gilks is with the Scotland squad and will be hoping to add to his three caps.

Meanwhile, Ince and Robinson have both joined the England Under 21 camp with coach Gareth Southgate.

The Scottish games this weekend are friendlies, whilst some nations battle for World Cup qualification through the play-off system.

For Gilks, he will hope to face USA at Hampden Park on Friday, before a trip to Norway the following Tuesday.

As for the England youngsters, they’re in competitive action and face qualifiers for the European Championships.

There is no travelling overseas this time however, instead they host Finland at Stadium:mk, Milton Keynes and San Marino at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium, Shrewsbury.

Craig Cathcart will have been expected to join up with the Northern Ireland squad, but has withdrawn with injury.
