Blackpool FC Community Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated individual to the role of Social Inclusion Officer.

The role will involve managing and delivering a range of provision for young people aged 15-20 years-old in order to provide them with positive opportunities and in turn create safer and stronger communities.

As part of this role you will be expected to work alongside the Trust’s Senior Community Officer on the successful delivery of the National Citizen Service programme.

NCS is a programme for 16 and 17-year-olds that will promote:

- A more cohesive society by mixing participants of different backgrounds
- A more responsible society by supporting the transition into adulthood for young people
- A more engaged society by enabling young people to work together to create social action projects in their local communities

The key role of the officer is to market NCS to local young people, recruit and retain participants on the programme and plan, organise and deliver the induction week, two residential trips, a planning week and prepare the groundwork for a successful final week social action project. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit and manage appropriate casual staff and volunteers to deliver the programme and will be responsible for the administrative and all monitoring aspects of the programme.

This role will also involve co-ordinating the delivery of a range of youth diversionary activities in partnership with a range of partners in Blackpool and the surrounding areas, this will include the work done by the Trust with Princes Trust on the Get Started Project.

You will have a proven track record of working with children and young people in either a sport, football, education or residential environment whilst demonstrating the ability to develop positive relationships with young people will be crucial to the success of this role. You must also be willing to undertake appropriate training courses in order to maximise your skills and meet the demands of this role. It would be advantageous if you hold the FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football. Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work some evenings and weekends. You will also be required to oversee residential trips so must be able to stay away from home as required.  You will require a full, valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.

This position is for a fixed term of 12 months with the potential of being extended, pending further funding being confirmed. Post will also commence as a four day a week post, with potential for the extra day being included, subject to confirmation of further funding.
