Blackpool 2-7 Bolton Wanderers

A second half Blackpool comeback was quickly extinguished as Bolton ran out comfortable winners in the Lancashire Senior Cup at a rain-soaked Squires Gate.

A Pool side containing the likes of Bobby Grant, Steve Davies and Michael Chopra found themselves 3-0 down at the break, and although they threatened a comeback, a late flurry of Bolton goals sealed it.

The hosts made the worst possible start, as Bolton raced into a two goal lead. Conor Wilkinson netted both to set his team on their way, before claiming his treble on the stroke of half time.

After the break Davies planted a header into the top corner, before Chopra's effort went in off Andy Kellett to make things interested.

At that stage Blackpool looked the stronger side in torrential conditions, but Bolton and Wilkinson's fourth knocked the stuffing out of the hosts.

Wanderers went on to finish strongly, firstly Zach Clough clipped in the fifth, before Kellett made up for his earlier error with a late brace, both neat finishes.

The defeat meant Blackpool crashed out of the Lancashire Senior Cup at the first hurdle.
