Tony McMahon says he's 'over the moon' to extend his stay at Blackpool and be part of José Riga's plans for the future.
The 28-year-old, who has agreed a new one-year deal with an option for a further year, has turned down an offer from another Championship club to remain a Seasider.
"I'm over the moon to get things over the line. Myself and my family know that I'll now be at Blackpool so I'm really happy," he told the official website. "I said to the chairman from day one that family is massive for me and I think he knows that. My little boy loves Blackpool and says the fans are really loud.
"I enjoyed my time at Blackpool last season and I'd like to think that I did well. I did have an offer from another club in The Championship but I chose Blackpool at the end of the day."
The right-back returns at an exciting time for the club, with the manager set to bring several new arrivals to Bloomfield Road as he looks to shape a new squad.
"There's going to be a lot of changes and the chairman has already pointed that out, but one thing I know is that I'm going to be part of it. I'm really looking forward to coming back for pre-season.
"The manager has got a clean slate, which is probably an ideal situation for any manager. He can go and sign the players he wants to sign now and he won't be stuck with players that he doesn't want. I'm just pleased that he's identified me as part of his plans for the future of Blackpool Football Club," he added.
