Tony McMahon has agreed a new one-year contract at Blackpool FC with an option of a further season.
The 28-year-old defender made 18 Pool appearances last term and helped the club preserve their Championship status.
McMahon originally joined The Seasiders on loan from Sheffield United in January, before making the move permanent two games later.
It was the right-back’s second stint at Bloomfield Road after a brief spell in 2007.
After progressing through the Middlesbrough youth system, McMahon played Premier League football for Boro, before joining The Blades in 2012.
McMahon will return for pre-season training with his Blackpool team-mates in the coming weeks.
