Ian Holloway says he is extremely pleased with the two deals that Blackpool managed to strike in the dying embers of transfer deadline day.
Both Nathan Delfouneso and Nathan Eccleston were recruited late on Friday night and Ollie believes that competition for places is vital in order for his side to remain in the upper echelons of the npower Championship this season.
"We're getting some attack minded players in the squad that I can work with," said Holloway. "I wanted to get some other people in who can push us to scoring more goals and to put pressure on those in the team, so they don't think they are playing every week.
"I'm delighted to have those two and I'll try and do some more when the (loan) window opens probably, next week."
Eccleston's transfer was not completed in time for the striker to be included in the squad that faced Leicester on Saturday, but when he does get given the chance to play he is a player that Holloway expects to excite the fans.
"I like the way he plays. He's exciting, he can move the ball, he can twist, he can turn and he can finish. His career has been stagnated and he's been under pressure at a big club like Liverpool, so hopefully I can get him going.
"I'm sure the ability is there and hopefully he'll learn what I want and be patient and accept my coaching, then he might get in the team."
Holloway is also looking forward to working with loan signing, Delfouneso, but he will have to wait for the chance to start training with the 21-year-old.
"As for Delfouneso, I won't see him till next Wednesday (12 September) as he's going off with Incey in the England set-up and that just talks about the quality that we've got here. I'm excited about working with these boys."
