Bloomfield Road played host to another four 100% school attendance parties over the past seven days, with more than 1,200 children seeing their achievements celebrated.
Blackpool players were on hand each night to sign autographs, present certificates and pose for photos, while special prize draws for signed shirts and balls also took place.
Cllr Ivan Taylor, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for education, said: “We know that pupils who regularly attend school learn at a quicker rate, and have better exam results, which in turn give them a greater choice with regards to their future.
“All the children attending the event have worked very hard throughout the year and they all deserve to celebrate their efforts.
“Of course there is more that we can do to reduce absences and increase attendance, such as improving help for children to get to school and reminding parents of their responsibilities.
“Our work directly in schools and with families is helping to drive up attendance across the town, which can only be good for the pupils who go to school in Blackpool.
“We are doing all we can to make sure children regularly attend school and grow up to their full potential. Of course, we would like to thank all our sponsors for helping us put on the event.”
