Blackpool FC are pleased to announce Kaspars Varpins has joined the board of directors at the club.
The Latvian has worked closely with Club President Valeri Belokon for the past three years overseeing the financial side of Mr. Belokon’s businesses and joins him in a position of a director immediately.
Mr. Varpins met Chairman Karl Oyston on Friday having arrived in Blackpool earlier that day. He will watch the home game with Bristol City today before heading back to Latvia this evening.
The club’s new director is kept busy with his work in Riga but enjoys the outdoor life, engaging in activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking and running when possible.
The Latvian told the Official Website he is excited to be working with Blackpool FC: “I’m looking forward to working as closely as possible with Blackpool Football Club,” said Mr. Varpins.
“It’s my first time in Blackpool and I’m very excited to be here. I’m very impressed by the stadium and the town. I read about English football in the news and watch some games on TV. I’m very excited to watch this afternoon's game.”
