The Ladies maintained their status as league leaders with a fine 8-0 victory against Denton. With the score 2-0 at the interval the Ladies added six second half goals to secure an emphatic win.
Denton had the first effort with Steph Findlay in the home goal safely gathering a flick on from the visitor’s free kick. Sian Dillon then tested the Denton keeper for the first time, but she was equal to the challenge and produced a good save. The ‘keeper could do little about Pool’s next effort though, as moments later Dillon opened the scoring with a well placed finish low into the corner.
Just before the half hour mark Cross played the ball for Mac Barlow who made no mistake with her finish for 2-0. Pool continued to search for a third, with Claire Kilner, Barlow, Dillon & Charlotte Gill all going close before the break.
The Seasiders added their third fifteen minutes after the re-start, when April Oldfield played through Dillon who obtained her brace. The fourth came just five minutes later, this time it was Barlow turn to notch her second of the game.
Substitute Rhiannon Davies came on in place of Barlow, and soon forced another save from the keeper. She made no mistake with her next opportunity however, as she coolly finished off a ball from Dillon. A defence splitting pass from Oldfield then provided Oatley with a chance to make it six, and she duly applied the finish, rounding the keeper before finishing.
A quick brace from Banner in the closing minutes rouded off the win, and secured the three points which maintain Blackpool's position as leaders of the North West Women’s Regional League.
