A look at how the rest of the division fared over the weekend

Although Blackpool were beaten on Saturday, the defeat hasn’t proved too costly, as only one of the top eight teams in The Championship were victorious over the weekend.

Ipswich took all three points from Bloomfield Road, winning 3-2, meaning The Seasiders were amongst the top four sides in the division who failed to win.

League leaders Burnley drew 1-1 with Bournemouth, as Danny Ings came back to hurt his former club.

Nottingham Forest edged the East Midlands derby at Leicester, bouncing back from defeat to Blackpool last week with a 2-0 success.

In the day’s early kick-off Reading and QPR drew 1-1 and remained either side of Pool in the table.

Watford’s 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough kept them within touching distance of the top six, whilst Ross McCormack scored four, as Leeds beat Charlton 4-2 away from home.

Also edging closer to the play-off positions are Derby, who beat Sheffield Wednesday comfortably 3-0.

In Sunday’s game Wigan defeated Yeovil 1-0 at Huish Park, thanks to a solitary strike from Marc-Antoine Fortune.

Two mid-table sides, Brighton and Blackburn, met on Saturday, and although it may have looked even pre-match, The Seagulls swept their opponents aside with a 3-0 win.

Bolton continued their revival, with a 3-1 victory over Millwall.

Finally, Blackpool’s next opponents Birmingham left for the international break on a positive note, as Lee Clark returned to Huddersfield and guided his side to a 3-1 victory.
