Steve Thompson has revealed that Alan Wright is playing a key part in his current coaching plans at Bloomfield Road.
The Seasiders' caretaker boss has drafted in the former Pool left-back from youth team duties, with his experience in the game proving valuable.
Wright's expertise has helped Thompson work on specific areas in training, something which the latter believes to be of great importance.
"He's been fantastic. I had a word with Hillsy (John Hills) to bring Wrighty up from the youth team, and it's great when you've got that sort of experience to call on," Thompson said.
"He took the defenders today and the back four, while I took the midfielders and strikers. That's something that I believe in, you work in individual units.
"Wrighty has been an international left-back so that's why he worked with the defenders. I split the players up to work on individual things and they enjoyed it," he added.
