Larry On Norwich Win
Simon Grayson refused to talk up a late play-off bid from his side after they had ended Norwich's long unbeaten home record with a 2-1 win at Carrow Road.
Two first-half goals from recent recruit Stephen McPhee condemned the Canaries to their first home defeat in four months, with Jamie Cureton's penalty midway through the second period proving no more than a consolation.
As a result Blackpool moved above Norwich in the table, just seven points adrift of the final play-off position.
And if the Tangerines repeated their run in of last season they would surely finish in the top six.
Grayson's men won their final 10 games to reach the League One play-offs in some style but the manager is not banking on a repeat.
"We are still looking over our shoulders", he said. "At the start of the season our target was to try and stay in this league and that remains the case.
"Thanks to this result we are now only five points away from our safety target and that's a good position to be in right now.
"Obviously last season we finished with 10 wins but I am not going to say that is going to happen again. I'd be happy with three or four wins on the trot, that would be fine.
"All we can do is to try and kick on from here. After beating Charlton in our previous match and winning here again today, we now want to keep things going but at the moment all I'm thinking about is Barnsley at home next Tuesday."
Grayson was delighted with his side's performance which saw them totally dominate the first half.
McPhee opened the scoring on 15 minutes with a far-post header and doubled the advantage five minutes before the break after latching on to a well judged through ball from Wes Hoolahan.
"I thought we played very well today, especially in the first half", he said. "This is a difficult place to come to but we've gone out, knocked it around well and created lots of chances. I thought it was a very professional performance from the players today.
"We haven't picked up too many wins away from home this season but to be honest this doesn't surprise me. We've gone to places like Wolves and West Brom this season, played really well, and come away with nothing and last week we beat Charlton 5-3.
"We have acclimatised very well to the championship and, as I said, it's now important that we finish the season well."
