The Seasiders poor home form at Bloomfield Road continued this afternoon as Watford went back to Vicarage Road with all three points.

Two goals, one from Mike Williamson and the other from Tamas Priskin, were enough to see the visitors go within two points of Blackpool in the table with two games in hand.

Tony Parkes opted to name an unchanged side for the third game in succession for the visit of Watford. The substitute bench was also the same as at Derby County on Wednesday night.

Roy O'Donovan was the first Blackpool player to have an effort on goal inside the first couple of minutes but he dragged his strike across the box and out.

The visitors nearly went ahead in spectacular fashion after just five minutes as Tamas Priskin held off his man to hit an effort just over the crossbar. He came within inches of giving Watford the lead.

A great strike from Gary Taylor-Fletcher nearly put the Seasiders in front but for some agile keeping from Scott Loach. The Watford stopper stretched acrobatically to tip the makeshift striker's dipping effort from the edge of the area.

A slight break in the play saw Claus Jorgensen leave the field for treatment to a nasty cut on his head after he challenged low down for the ball. The midfielder went down the field with physio Phil Horner to be stitched back up.

A mazy run from DJ Campbell after some great tracking back saw him force a fine save from Scott Loach down low after jinxing his way past three defenders. The Leicester City loan man was slowly coming into the game.

With a clean shirt and patched up head wound Claus Jorgensen returned to the field of play to restore the side back to 11 men on 25 minutes. Shortly afterwards it was Watford's turn to have a go at goal from a free-kick but it failed to trouble Matt Gilks as Jobi McAnuff fired high and wide.

Just after the half-hour mark Roy O'Donovan was booked for fouling Watford right-back Lloyd Doyley. The yellow card meant that the midfielder has now picked up five for the season and will now miss the game against Bristol City through suspension.

It took until five minutes before half-time for the game to become stretched, both sides trying to get in behind the full-backs. Roy O'Donovan was having the most luck as him and Alex Baptiste saw most of the ball down the right.

Two minutes of added time went by before the referee called halt to a mainly uneventful first-half.

HALF-TIME SCORE - BLACKPOOL 0 WATFORD 0

The second-half started with a goalmouth scramble in the Watford area that Stephen Crainey ended by striking the ball over. The pace of the game had appeared to have upped somewhat since the players returned, David Vaughan and Gary Taylor-Fletcher both working a nice piece of interchange play.

Despite the positive start Watford took the lead on 54 when MIKE WILLIAMSON made a run near post from a Jobi McAnuff corner to head the ball into the bottom corner.

DJ Campbell looked to hit back for the Seasiders immediately but his strike deflected straight into the arms of Scott Loach.

The visitors were causing a number of problems from set-plays in the second-half, with a flurry of corners leaving the Seasiders to defend desperately. One corner resulting in another goal for Watford, this time from Tamas Priskin, but his deflected header was from an offside position.

The change in the way was panning out saw Tony Parkes make a change as Brett Ormerod replaced David Fox. Gary Taylor-Fletcher reverted to a role down the left side of midfield.

The Seasiders changed things further moments later with no sign of an equaliser forthcoming. Graeme Owens was the man to come on in place of Roy O'Donovan. The best performances so far for Blackpool had come from Alex Baptiste and David Vaughan.

Watford were continuing to dominate position with one or two of the Blackpool players starting to look a bit weary in what was their third game in a week. Claus Jorgensen could be heard clearly telling the lads to keep their heads up as they continued to push for a way back into the game. A great tackle from Rob Edwards just prevented Tommy Smith from bursting into the box and making it two.

A change in linesman brought another halt in proceedings as the fourth official came on to run the line. As play restarted a header from Rob Edwards following a long throw fell straight into the arms of Scott Loach.

A great ball from Graeme Owens nearly saw Watford's goalscorer Mike Williamson turn the ball into his own net but his header just managed to fall over the bar and out for a corner.

The Seasiders had suddenly sprung into life as both substitutes looked to carve out chances. First Brett Ormerod saw his effort from the edge of the area blocked and scrambled away before Graeme Owens delivered another great ball that evaded anyone in a tangerine shirt.

Watford made their first change of the game after 81 minutes when former Burmley and Chelsea player Jon Harley replaced Don Cowie.

The delivery of Owens was still causing the Watford defence endless problems as DJ Campbell flicked his ball onto the back post but the outstretched Gary Taylor-Fletcher poked the ball over.

A great goal from TAMAS PRISKIN was to end the game, though, following a neat interchange between him and Jobi McAnuff. Priskin raced clear and turned the covering Alex Baptiste before flicking the ball over Matt Gilks (86).

BLACKPOOL 0 WATFORD 2

The goal completely ended the resurgence from the Seasiders and the visitors continued to dominate.
