Goals from Charlie Adam and Stephen Dobbie ensured that the Seasiders kept up their play-off hopes with a 2-0 win at Plymouth.

The result was a case of deja vu for Pool following the victory by the same scoreline at Bloomfield Road against the Pilgrims earlier in the season - but it took a 78th minute finish from Adam, his 16th of the season, to finally break the deadlock.

A neat one-two between the midfielder and his compatriot Dobbie allowed him to open the scoring by beating 'keeper David Stockdale before the on loan Swansea striker latched onto a pass from Barry Bannan to seal the Seasiders' first win on the road since the Boxing Day victory at Derby County.

The two goals, scored in the space of four minutes, were just reward for a much improved second-half performance, something which manager Ian Holloway was quick to praise after the game.

"It was a much better second-half performance, we seemed to forget about our game plan," he said. "I managed to remind them what I wanted at half-time and in the second-half we settled down and got a couple of breakaway efforts.

"They were clinically finished off - and that makes the difference."
