Simon Grayson today confirmed the Seasiders have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur in respect of former Pool loanee and current England youth international Joe Martin.

"We have had an offer accepted by Tottenham and Joe is coming up later today to discuss personal terms and hopefully he will sign for us. As you know, deals are never done quickly everyone has to make sure it is right for them but we have got the first hurdle out of the way and have agreed a fee with Tottenham."

Looking back to Martin's time on loan last season Grayson added, " The lad did ever so well for us last year, even in the one game he played, we a lot in the training sessions to realise that he would be an excellent addition to the squad. Everyone agreed he didn't look out of place against Watford. If everything is agreed I am looking forward to working with him."

Asked about what Joe would add to the squad Grayson continued, "He played left side midfield against Watford and we know he can play at left back and in the centre of midfield, we want a hungry young player who wants to make a name in the game, we want work with him and make him better, he has a great attitude and wants to play and learn and hopefully it will be concluded and he will become a Blackpool player."
