After losing to a last minute goal last week, Pool have a chance to make amends when they visit Norwich. The Canaries have not started the season well and have lost to Coventry and Mk Dons so far this season without scoring a goal. Pool haven't made a better start, but there were encouraging signs against Bristol and the lads are more than capable of going to Norwich and taking something from the game. A draw will suit both teams and at 5/2 it looks decent value.

This weekend sees the return of the Premier League and there are one or two interesting fixtures.Everton have not been overly active in the transfer market, but they still look well equipped to take advantage of the disruption at Blackburn. Paul Ince is a very good coach and will turn out to be a very good top flight manager, but any team that loses Brad Friedel and David Bentley in the same summer is going to take time to adjust and the game at Goodison Park may have come a little too soon. At Evens, Everton are a fair price.

One team that look over priced are Middlesbrough. They are 2/1 to beat Tottenham at the Riverside and the bookies have priced the home side up far too generously. Much has been made of the 'revolution' at Tottenham, but I am yet to be convinced. They have signed some very good players, but David Bentley aside they are unproven in the Premier league. Gareth Southgate has built a decent team of his own and players like Alfonso Alves and Stuart Downing seem to play better against the better teams. At 2/1 the home side are worth taking a chance on. Spurs lost at Sunderland on the opening day of last season and they could suffer similar north east heart ache.

In the Championship, Birmingham can add to Southampton's woes by beating them at St. Mary's. The Blues have looked good since they dropped back down to this level and at 5/4 should have no problems making it six points out of six.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Charlton look over priced at 2/1 to win at Watford. Alan Pardew's side looked good when beating Swansea before losing to Yeovil in the cup, but a lot of changes were made for the cup tie, which goes along way in explaining the defeat. Watford looked a shadow of their former selves against Palace last weekend and despite beating Bristol Rovers in the cup they have their work cut out today. It was their home form that let them down last season and it will not take much for the crowd to get on the teams back.Selections

Pool Draw 5/2, Everton evens, Middlesbrough 2/1, Birmingham 5/4, Charlton 2/1
