Larry Looking For Another Good Norwich Away Day
SIMON GRAYSON is looking for the Seasiders to repeat last season's victory at Norwich when they take on the Canaries at Carrow Road tomorrow.
The away victory in East Anglia last campaign was one of the best away performances and results of the season - and Grayson would take the same again on Saturday.
The Seasiders are likely to have to do without that day's goalscoring hero Stephen McPhee for the clash, but will hope to come away with their first three points of the season.
On the game with the Canaries, Simon said: "We went there last year and put on a really good performance and got a fantastic result - and we want to be able to do that again this year."
The game between the sides looks set to see former Pool favourite Wes Hoolahan come up against his former teammates and the manager says the players are fully aware of what they will be coming up against.
He said: "We're obviously aware of his strengths and weaknesses. He was a fantastic servant for us, helped us with our promotion and staying in the division last year and everybody will be looking at Wes against us but he's at a new club now, and this happens throughout football that you end up playing against your ex clubs.
"He'll be looking to do well, as he has looked to do against Coventry and MK Dons. He's trying to make a name at Norwich now and my players are trying to make a name here as well and try and concentrate on getting a result against them."
The manager was hoping for some more positive news on the injury front but, despite one or two players returning to training, the gaffer admits to being cautious in throwing them into the game at Carrow Road.
"I've got to be careful that I don't throw them in to quickly and we lose them again. So, as much as I want to get them back quickly, I've got to be careful that I don't lose them for another two or three weeks or longer if I'm not careful."
It means that the Seasiders are likely to have a similar squad to the one that faced both Bristol City and Macclesfield, although Keith Southern will miss the game through suspension.
