Manager Simon Grayson has swooped to make a new signing ahead of the game with Preston by acquiring the services of midfielder Lee Hendrie on-loan from Sheffield United.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who played with Simon Grayson at Aston Villa, has joined the Seasiders until January 1, but the Blades will have the option to recall Hendrie after 28 days, if needed.  

Hendrie, who picked up an England international cap against Czech Republic in 1998, joined Sheffield United on a free transfer in July 2007 after ending his time with Aston Villa on-loan at Stoke City. He joined Leicester City on-loan in February and will now look to make a major contribution to the Blackpool midfield in the coming months.
