Edwards Relishing Wolves Return
ROB EDWARDS is looking forward to returning to Molineux tomorrow as he looks to skipper the side to a win over his previous employers, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The defender left the Midlands club in August to sign for the Seasiders and he will now aim to be part of another fantastic away performance this season, this time against the league leaders.
The skipper admits the game can't come soon enough with the team looking to bounce back and prove a point following Sunday's disappointing derby defeat.
"I'm looking forward to just getting back out on the pitch and trying to put things right, it just so happens that it's against my former club and the league leaders at the moment, so I'm doubly looking forward to it," Edwards admitted.
"They are obviously doing very, very well, scoring goals and performing well but we've been to some really tough places this year and got some good results - and there's no reason why we can't go there and get a good result. I believe, totally, that if we're at it and we play well then we will do."
The fixture will be the first time Edwards has come up against a former club he has played for and it's an experience he wants three points from.
"It will be good to see some old faces and obviously play against the lads. It's an experience I've not really had before, I've not gone back to a club where I've been signed at permanently and played there, so it will be an experience, I'm looking forward to it. I just want to get back out on the pitch really and put things right from last week. I've been looking forward to it since I signed so we'll see how it goes."
The centre-back admits that there are some very, very upset players in the dressing room who are desperate to prove a point and his calling on his teammates to put in a big performance.
