Transfer Latest
Following the news that Kyel Reid has joined the club on-loan, Simon Grayson has dipped into the loan market once again to sign Derby County striker LIAM DICKINSON.
The 23-year-old signed at Pride Park in the summer from Stockport County for a fee reported to be in excess of £750,000. He became Paul Jewell's ninth signing of the summer and with the intense competition for places with Rams, Jewell allowed Dickinson to join Huddersfield Town on loan and during his 13 appearances in West Yorkshire the Salford born front man netted 6 goals including a spectacular over head kick at Millwall.
He also played a huge part in helping former club Stockport County to promotion last season with a return of 21 goals from 37 League starts. The transfer to Derby marked a meteoric rise for the striker who was playing non-league football for Woodley Sports as late as December 2005. Stockport took him on trial before bringing him in permanently for just £2,000 at the end of 2005. They were rewarded with seven goals from 12 starts in the final few months of his debut campaign, and in 2006/07 Dickinson added another seven in 13 starts and 22 substitute appearances. But it was last season when the six-foot four-inches front-man really came to the fore with a best-ever personal haul of 21 and a day of Wembley glory to cap it all off.
