SIMON GRAYSON has revealed his delight in securing both Liam Dickinson and Kyel Reid from Derby County and West Ham, respectively, until January 1.

The manager has moved quickly to beat the 5pm loan deadline and bring in the players as he looks to add more competition in the Seasiders' squad.

Dickinson, who can be recalled from his loan after 28 days should Derby County require him, will look to bring another dimension to the Blackpool attacking options over the coming weeks, having only just returned from a similar loan spell at League One side Huddersfield Town.

The 23-year-old joined Derby County in the summer for a fee believed to be potentially in excess of £750,000 after an impressive stint in League Two with Stockport County where he helped them to promotion to League One last season.

After completing the deal, the manager revealed that his interest in the player began in the summer.

"We looked at him in the summer but once Derby got involved it was going to be too expensive for us. He's a player that we've kept an eye on, knowing that he's been out on-loan and he's got six goals already for Huddersfield this year, and he's gone back and Derby were willing to loan him out again in the Championship," Grayson said.

"He's a hungry, young player, he's a big, strong boy who will work the channels and he's got an eye for goal, so we're hopeful that it works out for him here."

Kyel Reid

The other player the manager has managed to bring in today is West Ham United winger Kyel Reid. The Hammer's academy product has represented England at under-17, 18 and 19 levels and has previously had similar loan spells with Barnsley and Crystal Palace.

Reid is another player that the manager has previously held an interest in bringing to Bloomfield Road and he's pleased to have finally sealed a loan deal for the highly thought of 21-year-old.

"Kyel Reid, who we've signed from West Ham, is a left-sided player who's got good pace, good delivery with his crosses into the box and he's a player I tried to get last year on numerous occasions," he revealed.

"We tried to get him before he went to Palace but West Ham wanted to keep him in the London area to keep him close to home and analyse him. There's just come a point now where I think West Ham have got a few players back and they're willing to let the lad get some experience, so as soon as we knew he was available, we were straight in the market for him.

"I'm grateful to both Derby and West Ham for lending us the players because they are two players that I'm hopeful will improve us and make us better and put players under competition again for places," he added.
