Vaughan Could Miss Trip To Crewe

Posted on: Tue 23 Jun 2009

POOL midfielder David Vaughan could miss out on an emotional return to the first club of his career, Crewe Alexandra.

The 26-year-old's international commitments with Wales could mean he that he is unavailable for the Seasiders Carling Cup trip to Gresty Road on Tuesday 11th August.

It is the price new boss Ian Holloway will have to pay as Vaughan looks to add his 17 full caps for his country.

Vaughan, who missed Wales previous World Cup qualifier due to injury is hopeful of a recall for the Wales friendly in Montenegro.

Meanwhile, Pool have until close of play tomorrow to make any changes to the League fixtures that were released last week.

Pool secretary Matt Williams said that the club had received a couple of requests to move the fixtures,

Williams explained, "We have had a couple of preliminary meetings with the local police and a couple of clubs have suggested switching an odd fixture which we will consider, but I can't see there being too much change to the provisional fixture list."
