Ref : Preston North End FC vrs Blackpool FC fixture, 13^th of February 2010

At the final whistle on Saturday, we will ask the away supporters to remain in their seats for a period of about 10 minutes. The rationale for this request will be to allow the home fans to disperse, thereby minimising the risk of disorder between the two sets of fans.

In support of the above request, my officers will put road closures in place around the Bill Shankly Kop which will cause some delay to away fans leaving the stadium area, as we have done for the last two seasons. I think it is appropriate that you are made aware of this tactic in advance so that you can amend your plans if you need to. I hope to keep the disruption to a minimum and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I would like to take the opportunity to wish those of you travelling to Preston on Saturday an enjoyable afternoon at Deepdale.
