Ollie Praise For Robins

Posted on: Fri 26 Feb 2010

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has praised the job that counterpart Mark Robins has done at Oakwell ahead of the game against Barnsley.

The Seasiders' boss has been impressed with the transformation at the club since the former Rotherham manager took charge of the Tykes back in September. At the time they were bottom of the Championship with just one point, whereas they now find themselves five points behind Blackpool in 11th place.

"What he's done at that club in such a short space of time is miraculous," Ollie said of the job done by Robins. "We know it'll be a tough game but I'm looking forward to it.

"When he went there, in a similar situation to I was at Leicester, the team were losing and had been down for the last season-and-a-half. He's had no pre-season to turn that around and has done really well."

It was Barnsley and Robins who ended the Seasiders' unbeaten home form at Bloomfield Road back in December, one that Ollie remembers well.

"We owe the next two teams one, I think. Obviously Barnsley beat us 2-1 when we were 1-0 up with ten minutes to go and I didn't like that feeling."

The Seasiders picked up their first three points at Barnsley for 73 years last season and will aim to be victorious again in an effort to sustain a push for the play-offs.

"We need the points for all sorts of reasons which we probably didn't anticipate at the start of the season, or a lot of people wouldn't have done," Ollie said. "I want the boys to actually believe in themselves more than they do, they've got to believe in what I say and the system and structure."

Neal Eardley, fresh from his international call-up, will return to the squad for the game against Barnsley but Rob Edwards will be missing as he serves the final game of a two-match suspension.
