David Vaughan has been named Blackpool Fans' Player of the Month for February after a number of impressive displays in midfield.

The 27-year-old Welsh international polled 59 percent of your votes to beat the likes of Charlie Adam, Ian Evatt and Keith Southern to the accolade.

"I'm a bit surprised but I'm pleased," Vaughan said on hearing the news. "The fans obviously appreciate my performances over the last month and I now hope to keep that going until the end of the season."

Vaughan shone against the likes of Middlesbrough, Reading and Preston in February, with the latter being his favourite game.

"The most enjoyable game was the Preston one, even though we didn't win I thought the team played well and we should have won."

He is currently on international duty with his country ahead of the friendly game against Sweden tomorrow night.
