Blackpool FC are joining forces with all 72 Football League Clubs in a united week of action to raise awareness and vital funds for Help for Heroes - The Football League's Official Charity Partner for the 2009/10 season.
Football for Heroes week will take place between March 6 and 14 allowing the whole of The Football League to show its support for the efforts of our Armed Forces.
Blackpool will be holding their game against Ipswich Town on Saturday 6 March.
Karl Oyston, Chairman of Blackpool FC, said: "We are extremely honoured to be joining the other clubs in the Football League to once again show our support for Help for Heroes. It is vitally important that we continue to help our Armed Forces by raising money to provide specialist care and treatment."

The Seasiders have already shown their support for Help for Heroes this season by raising £2,793.75 via a poppy shirt auction that also raised money for The Royal British Legion. A number of the serving and ex-serving community were also present for the fixture against Scunthorpe United as part of our Armed Forces Day. A collection bucket for Help for Heroes has remained in the club shop ever since for supporters wishing to donate.
During the week of action, Bloomfield Road will be hosting a wide range of events designed to produce the maximum coverage and awareness of the charity which helps rehabilitate members of the British Armed Forces injured in the line of duty.
This will include:
·Blackpool and Ipswich emerging from the tunnel behind a Help for Heroes banner
·The respective captains and the match officials posing for a photo at kick-off with a Help for Heroes banner
·Ian Holloway and Roy Keane wearing Help for Heroes wristbands for the duration of the game
·The Seasiders' first team signing a Football League Help for Heroes ball which will then be auctioned off for the charity
Lord Mawhinney, Chairman of The Football League said: "The contribution being made by our armed forces around the world is both outstanding and humbling. As a nation we seldom thank them enough for the sacrifices they make. The Football for Heroes week will provide an excellent opportunity for supporters to show their appreciation for the work they do."
