ALMOST 1,600 supporters flocked to Bloomfield Road on Wednesday night to help test out the Seasiders new Armfield South Stand.

The club had needed a minimum of 500 people to assist in testing the facilities in the new surprised and Chairman Karl Oyston expressed his thanks to those who attended,

"I would like to take this opportunity of thanking those supporters who gave up their Wednesday evening to come down and help us test out the new South Stand.

"We were pleasantly surprised at the numbers who came down to have a look and watch the game, it gave our stewards some valuable experience and I am sure it gave the Safety Advisory Group and local council a great insight into how the logistics of the stand will work.

"I hope those who came were impressed with the spacious concourse under the stand and view from the seats, from our point of view everything went well and we are looking forward to the weekend."
