Brett Ormerod feels that the Seasiders will be prepared and ready for the season opener at Wigan on Saturday following a tough pre-season.
The striker believes that the sharpness will come following a 2-1 defeat to Hibernian - and he hopes it will be at the DW.
"Hibernian are a good team and it was a good test," he said. "I thought we kept the ball a lot better today, especially in the first-half. But for a bit of wayward finishing we could have scored a few goals.
"We've had a tough week, we're feeling a bit tired in the legs but that's what it's for. It's all part of pre-season and hopefully we'll be nice and sharp for the opener.
"It's been a pretty tough pre-season but hopefully the lads are raring to go now. We'll now have a good week of training and be ready for the big kick-off."
The 33-year-old has good memories of his time spent at Wigan on-loan in 2005, although the personnel has changed dramatically since his spell there.
"I scored a couple of goals for them and played a small part in their promotion so I have fond memories of Wigan," he revealed. "It's pretty much changed now and I can't really think of any players who were there when I was."
