OLLIE CLOSING IN ON TARGETS

Posted on: Sun 08 Aug 2010

Ian Holloway was delighted to see the back of pre-season following the Seasiders' loss to Hibernian - and now hopes to bring in a number of new faces in the coming days.

The manager has been working tirelessly throughout the summer to recruit new players ahead of a debut season in the Barclays Premier League.

"I'm glad it's over really," he said following the game against Hibs. "There are some very good things that might happen early next week for us. I haven't brought anyone in yet but I'm sure I will by the end of next week.

"We're still working at some fantastic targets and as far as I'm concerned I expect to have four or five people here by Monday. One of them has already had a medical and he'll be joining us and putting pen to paper.

"Once that first one comes in it'll make a huge difference," he added.
