Club Captain Jason Euell says this is massive week for the players in terms of preparing for the Barclays Premier League.
While the manager is poised to confirm new signings, the players are set for their last week of pre-season training before the big kick off.
Speaking after the 2-1 friendly defeat to Hibs, Euell said: "It was a good run out. A bit disappointing on the result but we got a few more minutes under our belt. We played well and the manager is happy with the first half performance and bits of the second half. What we've done now is got ourselves ready for the first game of the season.
"All of the boys are looking forward to Saturday and we know what this week is going to be about."
Despite the result, Euell was impressed with the side's final pre-season showing.
He added: "It was a positive performance. We had a lot of chances in the first half then a few in the second. We didn't put the game to bed when we should have done. It's things like that, even though it is pre-season, you will take it into the season ahead so it is still a learning curve."
And one of the most impressive things taken from the game was the goal scored by Euell which involved teammates Brett Ormerod and Ishmel Demontagnac in a passing move which had plenty of Premier quality about it.
"That's part of how we play," he said. "The manager has put it into us. We created a lot more chances too. We've had a lot of training sessions and a lot of discussions.
"I think there was more shape there which is what got us to where we are now so it's good to try and put all of that into today's game."
