SYLVESTRE: DREAM COME TRUE

Posted on: Fri 13 Aug 2010
New recruit Ludovic Sylvestre officially signed for Blackpool on Wednesday and has spoken of his excitement for the forthcoming campaign.

The 26-year-old put pen to paper on a two year deal and is delighted to link up with the club.

"I'm really happy to be here," he said. "It's a dream come true for me to be here and to know that everybody is happy that I'm coming.

"It's a really good opportunity for me to play here and to show everybody my quality but I'm not alone. We'll work hard as a team so we just have to be together and try to do our best.

"I'm here to learn because the Premier League is the best league so I want to learn more and more and I think the manager will help me also."

Silvestre caught the eye of boss Ian Holloway last season and is delighted to finally link up with the Seasiders boss.

He added: "
He's happy that I'm here because he has been waiting since six months ago so now I'm here so he's happy with me because I wanted to be part of his dream also.

"I just want to be on the pitch and play and just see all what the Premier League is and do my best to keep Blackpool in the it.

"I followed the team a little bit last year and they did a good job and now I just see the fans and that everybody is really happy so it's exciting to be in the Premier League."

Silvestre scored 12 goals in 60 appearances for former club Mladá Boleslav and also enjoyed a brief stint at Barcelona.

But he is under no illusions of the task ahead at Bloomfield Road.

He said: "Everybody is saying we'll be relegated so we just know what we have to do; work hard and give our best and then we will see.

"Every game will be amazing. The big four will be amazing but every game will be a big challenge for us so we just have to do our best."
