Blackpool will head to Latvia during the international break to play FK Jelgava in a friendly.

The Seasiders will face the 2009-10 Latvian Football Cup winners on Thursday 2 September, kick-off 6.05pm (Latvian time) at the Zemgale Olympic Center.

The Latvian side recently reached the Second Qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, losing out on away goals to FK Molde of Norway.   

Pool's fixture against FK Jelgava will be screened on television in the country and will be attended by the State President of Latvia and the British Ambassador to Latvia.

Club Director Normunds Malnacs is a native of the town.
