Charlie Adam has revealed his delight at the club's start to the season and says he is relishing the prospect of facing Arsenal this weekend.
Adam played a crucial role in the opening day victory over Wigan Athletic, but while many have been surprised by the Tangerines start, the Scottish midfielder is hopeful there is plenty more to come.
"Obviously everybody knows how well we played and it's a nice way to start the season, but there's no point in getting too carried away, we know it's going to be tough this season but we look forward to it and we're going to enjoy it," said Adam.
"It's going to be a nice rollercoaster ride at times but as long as we enjoy it and put in performances like we did last weekend, we'll be OK I think," he added.
Arsene Wenger's Arsenal side are the Seasiders next opponents, on the back of a 1-1 draw with Liverpool last Sunday and Adam is aware the Gunners will be under pressure to record their first win of the season.
"The draw last week against Liverpool was probably one that they felt they could've won, but they'll be going into their first home game of the season under a bit of pressure to get their first win and us going there will be nice and hopefully we could plant a few seeds again and show that we're here not to just here to make the numbers up," he added.
A capacity crowd is expected at the Emirates, but Adam brushed off suggestions the team will be nervous and says the squad are eager to play in games of such magnitude.
"There's no sign of nerves, we played at some big stadiums last season and we did well, we got to a play-off final at Wembley, we won that, so we're on a winning run but going to the Emirates is a totally different match, different season, but we look forward to it," said Adam.
"It's tough, but every game in this league is tough, but if we go there and try and play the way we know we can then hopefully we can get the right result."
